A dedicated traveller must overcome many obstacles like an insufficient water supply and a diminishing sense of reality caused by the overwhelming impressions of a country whose violent vastness is reflected in the exhausted faces of its inhabitants before, while absorbed in the view of a bulky Russian farmer's wife, who provokes him to ponder the insufficiency of human nature, he bravely starts a last attempt at reconnoitering the legendary treasure of Czar Peter the Great.
