It has been 40 years since Belize – formerly 'British Honduras' – gained its independence from Britain. However, the UK military's presence in the small Central American country could be set to increase. @phil56623 years ago 11 years in the british army. I went to belize in 2007 for jungle training. It was probably the best thing ive ever done. I still think about it now. Loved my time there and would love to go back. Amazing country. 62
