Steve Irwin was born on February 22, 1962, in Essendon, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He grew up on a wildlife park owned by his parents, where he developed a passion for animals that would define his life's work. Despite lacking a formal scientific degree, Irwin became a world-renowned wildlife expert and entertainer, best known for his TV series The Crocodile Hunter and other nature programs. His upbringing on the wildlife park provided him with a strong foundation in animal care and handling, which he honed under the guidance of his father, who taught him how to catch and manage crocodiles. Irwin's popularity as a TV personality and wildlife enthusiast spawned a range of merchandise tie-ins, making him a household name.
Sadly, on September 4, 2006, During a diving expedition off the coast of Port Douglas in Queensland, Australia, Steve Irwin was filming a documentary titled "Ocean's Deadliest" when he was fatally struck in the chest by a stingray. His remarkable life and career were brought to an abrupt end as a result of the tragic accident.
