The trail passed close by ancient petroglyphs and reached up to old water irrigation canals. Due to the changing weather, we did not quite make it to the Meadows but the loop hike skirted the Panj River with incredible views of the Wakhan Corridor and #Afghanistan. Passing through small villages, we were invited for tea by lovely ladies. It was great to see village life, like kids playing volleyball, sheep grazing in the fields, and shepherds bringing their herd back.
